OFFICIAL VISIT PROGRAM
July 9–11, 2026
The Ministry of National Sovereignty is pleased to announce the official itinerary for the State Visit of His Excellency Hiro Michie, Prime Minister of Japan, to the Federative Republic of Brazil. The visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations, promote economic cooperation, encourage cultural exchange, and expand diplomatic partnerships between both nations.
DAY 1 – JULY 9, 2026
Official Arrival in Brasília
Prime Minister Hiro Michie will arrive at Brasília International Airport, where he will receive official honors upon his arrival.
The Prime Minister will be welcomed by the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Minister of National Sovereignty, members of the federal government, state governors, diplomatic representatives, and other distinguished Brazilian and international authorities.
The official welcoming ceremony will include:
- Performance of the National Anthems of Brazil and Japan;
- A ceremonial 21-gun salute;
- Military honors and inspection of the Guard of Honor;
- Official greetings between both delegations.
Following the ceremony, the Prime Minister will attend an Official State Luncheon at the Palácio da Alvorada, the official residence of the President of Brazil.
During the afternoon, His Excellency will have the opportunity to participate in visits to locations and events of national importance.
Later that day, the Prime Minister will travel to Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, where accommodations have been arranged by the Ministry of National Sovereignty.
DAY 2 – JULY 10, 2026
Visit to the Ultimate Rodeo Festival – Ipatinga, Minas Gerais
The Prime Minister will attend the official opening ceremony of the Ultimate Rodeo Festival in Ipatinga, State of Minas Gerais.
The event will provide opportunities for cultural exchange, celebration, and direct engagement with Brazilian entrepreneurs and business leaders participating in the festival's business exhibition.
Participating organizations include, among others:
- McDonald's
- EBN (Brazilian News Company)
- TIM Brasil
- Capital Brazil
- Ouro Mineiro
- Brahma
The exhibition will serve as a platform to promote investment opportunities, commercial partnerships, and future cooperation between Brazil and Japan.
DAY 3 – JULY 11, 2026
Institutional and Regional Visits
The Prime Minister will begin the day in the State of São Paulo, where he will conduct an official visit to the headquarters and studios of EBN (Brazilian News Company), receiving an institutional presentation and guided tour.
Following the visit, the delegation will travel to the City of Santos to observe newly developed urban projects and infrastructure initiatives currently underway in Brazil.
The Prime Minister will then proceed to the State of Rio de Janeiro, visiting the city of Niterói, recognized as one of Brazil's major economic centers, home to numerous national and international businesses.
The itinerary will continue to Gramado, in Southern Brazil, where the Prime Minister will experience one of the country's most renowned cultural and architectural destinations.
Afterwards, the delegation will visit Balneário Camboriú, internationally recognized for its modern skyline and frequently referred to as the "Brazilian Dubai." During this visit, opportunities for regional cooperation and meetings at the Mercosur Headquarters in Brazil may be held.
At the conclusion of the official program, the Prime Minister will return to the State of Rio de Janeiro, where a Farewell Ceremony of Heads of State will be held prior to the departure of the Japanese delegation for Japan.
